Look Where I Went: CPAC '15 + Easter/Spring Break

Follow my blog with Bloglovin I really miss the appeal of personal blogging, but I love the whole concept of giving your blog a theme. I decided to open a Blogger account to do both. April's almost over and I did a lot of stuff throughout the month. I also did a bunch of stuff throughout the end of March, so I created a big recap post to include both months. I'd like to recap my March convention experience first.
I haven't been to an anime convention in a while, mostly due to the lack of extra money to attend. From the cost of your admission price, traveling, eating, cosplaying, and buying stuff I really needed to take a break for a while--a long while.
Since I haven't been to an anime convention since around 2008, going to one again was a nice change of pace and I can't wait for the next one! (You can view my convention and event schedule on the right side of my blog, so if you'll be at the same event please let me know! I love making new friends, especially if they're anime friends!) I went to Castle Point Anime Convention not knowing what to expect since it's been so long, but it was a great day and a ton of fun. I went with my boyfriend Andrew and his friend Matt. A few of my friends were also there, so I got to meet up with them too.
For those of you who haven't attended CPAC, you should attend if you're looking for a small anime convention to go to. It's located in Hoboken, New Jersey and is run by the Anime Club of the Stevens Institute of Technology. It's everything like a big con minus a few high profile guests, but their panels and Dealer's Room/Artist Alley (yes, it's one room) is pretty solid. For a college run anime convention (now that they've gotten bigger they've been sponsored by some of the big wigs), it's pretty great, and it makes you feel like you're at a big convention because the campus is so big. There's also a ton to do around Hoboken, so if you're feeling a bit tired from the convention or if you want to do something else for a little while, Hoboken has a bunch of options for you to choose from.

It was warm enough that day to not wear a coat, and since you have to be outside for quite a bit when attending CPAC, I figured that this would be the perfect sweater to wear! I'm also quite the Pegasister, and got a ton of compliments on my sweater throughout the convention! One attendee even thought I hand made it myself. I had wanted to originally cosplay, but my plans to actually attend this convention were a bit last minute.

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day! Egg, avocados, and swiss cheese breakfast sandwich.

Ah, the best part of conventions. The stuff you bring back with you. My friend Tori ended up buying me a Kitty Cheshire doll from the Ever After High series and I ended up buying Sailor Moon and Darkstalkers art. Sailor Mars and Morrigan are two of my favorite characters. I also ended up purchasing one of the new Sailor Moon gashapon figures, which can be hard to find in the U.S., especially separate. I never had the original lip gloss Star Power Sticks when I was younger, so finding the new gashapon version at the convention was very exciting for me. 

Can't forget about dinner. Sushi from Sushi 'X' in Ridgewood!

In addition to CPAC happening, the week after was Easter (and my Spring Break from work).
